Man fatally struck by a Queens train after dropping his phone on subway tracks


A man was struck to death by a train on Sunday after he jumped onto the tracks at a Queens station after dropping his mobile phone.the authorities reported.

The 46-year-old man was standing on the northbound platform at the Jackson Heights – Roosevelt Avenue station when he dropped his cell phone on the tracks after 11:30 p.m.

So he jumped off the platform to get the phone, but was unable to get back on before the F train passed through the station, police said.

The train rammed him, killing him on the spot, where he was pronounced dead, according to officials.

The New York authorities have not released his identity, since they must first inform the victim’s relatives.

About an hour before the man was struck by the F train in Queens, another subject was found dead on an L train in Brooklyn.

The corpse of the citizen, still sitting on a bench inside the train was found when the subway car stopped at the Rockaway Parkway stationlast stop at the end of the line in Canarsie.

The New York police said she had no signs of trauma and no crime was suspected in connection with her death.
