13-year-old boy arrested for the murder of a young man who was stabbed on a street in Queens, New York


Three adolescents aged 13, 15 and 17 were arrested and charged in the fatal attack on Justin Shaw, a young man stabbed to death on a Wednesday afternoon on a Queens (NYC) street.

The trio were accused of being involved in a gang beating of two men during an argument shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday near Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard in the vecindario South Ozone Park.

A member of the group pulled out a knife and stabbed Shaw, 20, in the chest, police said. The injured man was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, but he could not be saved.

Another 20-year-old was also attacked and taken to hospital with a stab wound to his right leg. That unidentified victim was reported in stable condition.

The suspects were arrested shortly thereafter and charged with gang assault, police said. They were not identified due to being minors. The older teen was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

It was unclear if police are looking for anyone else in connection with Shaw’s death or if any of the arrested teens will face murder charges. Detectives said they weren’t sure what led to the fatal incident, he said. New York Post.

All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
