A great party for the game Mexico vs Argentina

If you’re looking for a place to watch World Cup matches, consider including Pig Beach BBQ on your list. This Astoria-based restaurant-brewery has extended hours and special events throughout the World Cup, and features a giant terrace, three premium bars, and more than 55 TVs in a massive 28,000-foot space. And this Saturday, November 26, it will host a “Team Mexico Watch Party”, an interactive party to watch the Mexico vs. Argentina, in association with the Adidas World Cup Truck, where fans will be able to get an authentic Aztec team jersey with free customization. The Adidas truck will be parked starting at 12:00 pm, prior to the 2:00 pm game, and will offer giveaways such as official Mexico team scarves, mini soccer balls, and more. “The Nutcracker” for autistic children

TDF, the nonprofit service organization for the performing arts, will provide the first autism-adapted performance of the world-renowned New York City Ballet production The Nutcracker de George Balanchine. Designed for families with members on the autism spectrum or with other cognitive or developmental disabilities, this special morning session will be presented through TDF’s Autism Friendly Performances (AFP) program, this Sunday, November 27 at 1 pm in the Theater David H. Koch of the Lincoln Center. The current AFP season will continue with Wicked on February 12, 2023 at 1pm, Harry Potter on April 30, and a final show to be determined. Tavern on the Green Tree Lighting

“Tavern on the Green” will celebrate the holiday spirit with its sixth annual tree lighting ceremony, next Tuesday, November 29. The lighting will be a beautiful 20-foot Christmas tree, topped with more than 2,000 ornaments and 10,000 lights that will shine throughout Central Park. The festivities will also include performances by DJ Tweed, The Manhattan Holiday Carolers and a special surprise Broadway show to spread holiday cheer and create lasting memories for guests. Paley Land opened its doors

The Paley Center for Media has already opened the doors for its annual Christmas experience, PaleyLand, a winter wonderland in Midtown. The Paley Museum has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind interactive holiday experience, featuring photos of Santa and his iconic helpers, a stunning menorah, conversations with familiar characters, an enchanted gingerbread house with a swing, a Christmas sleigh, a attractive igloo straight from the North Pole and the beloved Paley Express, a magical holiday train that captures the holiday spirit and imagination of everyone who makes the journey to PaleyLand. TopView started its popular bus tour Christmas Lights NYC. This adventure begins with hot chocolate and cookies as passengers listen to the elves tell a captivating Christmas story. The bus then zips around town passing more than ten dazzling holiday light displays, from the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Light Show and Rockefeller Christmas Tree and Radio City Music Hall to Cartier Holiday Lights and Bryant Park. Passengers will have the opportunity to sing Christmas carols, spend quality time with Santa, write his Christmas list and receive a sleigh bell as a gift from him while sharing their seasonal wishes. Exhibition on Frida Kahlo

The Parrish Art Museum presents Kahlo: An Expanded Body (Kahlo: An Expanded Body), a groundbreaking investigation into the iconic artist Frida Kahlo through the lens of her dramatic medical history and its sustained impact on her life and work. The multi-gallery exhibition, on view through April 2, 2023, provides new insight into the importance of the body as enduring source material for Kahlo’s figurative and metaphorical representations of her physical and emotional life. The exhibit features more than 100 objects, many never before seen, made available through exclusive access to the private family archives of Kahlo’s great-niece, Mexican artist Cristina Kahlo. Visit the illuminated gardens of Old Westbury

An unforgettable experience of Christmas lights, sights and sounds, Shimmering Solstice at Old Westbury Gardens kicks off its season this Friday, November 25. Prepare to be enchanted by the magical light displays and seasonal soundtracks along the beautiful pathways of Old Westbury Gardens, taking you through the world famous Walled Garden, Rose Garden, South Lawn and Allée, just to name a few.
