Angry driver hit police officer who was going to ticket him: NYPD video


An NYPD traffic officer was pushed and punched while issuing an illegal parking ticket in Brooklyn.

The violent incident happened Monday at approximately 12:52 p.m. in front of 1602 Avenue Z. Police released security camera video in search of the attacker, who fled and is still on the run.

The officer was writing the ticket when he was attacked by a man, the driver of the improperly parked car, who knocked off his uniform cap. Amid apparent screams, both began to physically fight until they ended up on a car.

The video captured the attacker hitting the policeman on the head and body several times, while his shorts fell downin the midst of people walking by. The officer was taken to the hospital in stable condition, he said. Pix11.

The police said that the suspect fled the scene in the vehicle that received the citation. The suspect is in his 40s, approximately 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, and has short black hair.
